Head of School

  • Fisher has been married to his wife, Kari, for eight years and together they have three children. They have resided in Waverly for the past six years, a community they cherish deeply for its close-knit nature and supportive environment. Fisher currently serves as the Creative Arts Pastor at Crosspoint Church, a role that he will continue on a part-time basis as he steps into leadership at Waverly Christian School.

    Mr. Woodley is committed to discipleship and building lasting relationships within his community. His passion for developing teams and equipping others shines through his work in education, ministry, and the arts, preparing him uniquely for his role at Waverly Christian, where he aims to create an educational environment grounded in academic excellence and Christian values.

The Board

  • Greg Gosnell has served in full-time pastoral ministry for the past 14 years in Iowa and Minnesota. He currently is the Lead Pastor of Horton Baptist Church just north of Waverly. His passion is to faithfully preach and apply the Word of God in the everyday lives of people and help them be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Greg has been married to his wife, Keri, since 2010 and they have three kids: Ezra, Eden, and Nora. Greg is excited about the opportunity for Waverly Christian School to assist parents in the education and discipleship of their children as well as impacting the Waverly community with the light of God’s Word.

  • Dr. Kristopher Blanchard has a Ph.D. in Organization and Management, is a licensed CPA, and has extensive experience in academia. As a scholar-practitioner, he has taught across various academic levels and modalities, consistently delivering above-average teaching evaluations. He is committed to a student-centered learning environment and has a dedication to excellence in Christian education and its commitment to preparing future generations for impactful roles in the marketplace. Dr. Blanchard and his wife, Shelly, have been connected to the Waverly community for over 10 years and are active members of Crosspoint Church. They have three adult children and five grandchildren.

  • Meredith Smith is an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Northern Iowa in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and a Mental Health Counselor at Candeo Counseling Center. But most importantly, Meredith is a wife and mom. Meredith has been married to Sam for 15 years and has 3 awesome boys, Henry, Bo and Wesley. Meredith is deeply passionate about providing Christ-focused education and quality academics for her children and the families within Waverly and surrounding communities. She is excited to see how God has been moving and looks forward to what He has for the future of faith-based education for the community she calls home.

  • Madison Metcalf has served in full-time ministry at Crosspoint Church over the last few years, working closely with middle school, high school, and college students. She married her college sweetheart Tyler Metcalf in 2019, became a mom to Hazel in 2021, and welcomed little sis Hollyn into the world in May 2024. Working closely with students and parents has allowed Madison to see how students are impressionable in their adolescence, and she has a passion for doing all that we can to impress the right things upon them when it matters most. She's excited for all that's in store for Waverly Christian and the students that will be impacted and equipped to be a light in a dark world.

  • Adrienne Boettger, a Cedar Valley native and graduate of Wartburg College, began her career as a high school teacher before transitioning to the role of Director of Advancement at Waterloo Christian School. Passionate about education, she also teaches Entrepreneurship and Life Ready classes. She is dedicated to making a lasting impact through her work and community involvement which is all centered around the most important work in the world, the work of the Advancement of the Kingdom of God in the World.

  • Matt Miller is a husband, father, pastor, and most importantly a servant of God! Matt has been married to his wife, Nicole for 25 years, they have four amazing children! Matt has been a pastor for 25 years and Lead Pastor at Life Church in Waverly Iowa, for over 10 years. Matt loves the Lord with all of his heart, loves his family, church and the community he serves. Matt and Nicole have prayed and dreamed of biblical Christian education in our community for years, and counts it an honor to be on the board that will help make that dream turn into a reality.

  • Off-Site Iowa Licensed Administrator

    Rebecca Johnson, from Aplington, Iowa, is married to Eric, who balances roles as a farmer and business owner. Together, they have two grown children, Hannah and Alan, and cherish family time, traveling, and engaging in mission work. Rebecca brings extensive experience from her teaching career in both public and private schools and spent five years as the administrator of Timothy Christian School near Wellsburg, Iowa. Currently, she continues to contribute as the school’s part-time curriculum director.

    Passionate about Christian education and the well-being of children, Rebecca partners with Inspired Life as an education specialist, working to expand educational opportunities for families across Iowa.

  • Teacher

    Patricia ten Hoeve, born and raised in Waverly, graduated from Wartburg College in 2020. She has spent the first five years of her teaching career at New Hampton Middle School teaching eighth-grade literacy. Patricia and her husband, Stefan, have been married since 2018 and attend Elevation Church in Cedar Falls, where she regularly teaches Sunday School. 

    Outside of work, Patricia enjoys spending time with her family, knitting, and reading. She feels honored to be part of the team at Waverly Christian School and can’t wait to encourage and uplift students in their walk with God.

  • Teacher

    Emily Boyle grew up near Ames, Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in Spanish and Middle Level Education. While in the Cedar Valley, her and her husband Keaton attended Grace Baptist Church and helped with their middle school and high school youth groups.

    They moved to Mankato, Minnesota last summer on a church plant. Emily spent that year teaching 6th-grade Spanish at Prairie Winds Middle School. They got to see God move in miraculous ways in Mankato during that year! He has opened doors for them to return to Waverly, and they are so thrilled to watch what He does with this community!

    Outside of school, Emily enjoys gardening, hiking, and crafting. She's excited to walk alongside students and help them grow not only academically, but spiritually!

  • Teacher

    Lori received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Mt. Mercy University and her MAT from Morningside College. Her experience includes being an ELP teacher at Clear Creek Amana, K-5 Title I/Reading Recovery teacher at Linn-Mar, a supervising teacher at Marion Home School Assistance Program,  and most recently a 1st grade and Reading teacher at Waterloo Christian School.

    Lori grew up in the Amana Colonies and lives in Cedar Falls with her husband, Glenn of 40 years. Together they have two adult sons (two daughters-in-law) and three grandchildren. 

    Lori enjoys exercising, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She is really looking forward to her role as a 1st grade teacher and discipling kids in their walk with Christ at WCS.

  • Teacher

    Miranda Ray grew up in Altoona, Iowa, attending the Lutheran Church of the Cross, where she found her passion for teaching through Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. This past winter she graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a minor in social-emotional learning. While at UNI, she was active in the campus ministry Chi Alpha and was a small group leader.

    Miranda enjoys crafting, playing games, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to start this new journey and help the students grow academically and spiritually!

  • Front Desk Administrator

    Dawn graduated from Wartburg College in 2001 with a B.A. in Communications, specializing in Public Relations. Since 2014, she has served as the Coordinator of Visitor Relations and Special Events in the Wartburg College Admissions Department, bringing years of experience in hospitality, event planning, organization, and community engagement.

    A Waverly native, Dawn is deeply rooted in the community and currently resides here with her two teenage sons. She is an active member of Crosspoint Church, where she serves on the worship team and leads a women’s small group.

    In her free time, Dawn enjoys singing with local jazz and community bands, attending her kids’ athletic events, studying the Bible, cooking and baking, and spending quality time with family and friends.

    She is honored to be a part of the story God is writing for Waverly Christian School and can’t wait to encourage students in their walk with Jesus.
